They are mainly caused by mosquitoes, bees, and wasps. When they bite or sting, the insects release saliva or venom into the skin, which triggers a local inflammatory response. Typical symptoms include itching, redness, swelling, pain, or a burning sensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"is-style-subline wp-block-paragraph\">Unless you are allergic to insect bites or stings, they can be treated locally, for example using a roll-on, spray, or applicator.
